Patient Profile
Mustafa Atac, a Turkish physician, graduated from Ankara University School of Medicine, trained in neurosurgery in the Netherlands, and practiced in the United States. Decades of smoking had left him with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) – the most severe stage, Stage 4.
Diagnosis
Mustafa was diagnosed with end‑stage COPD. His lungs repeatedly filled with fluid, requiring regular drainage, and his pulmonary function continued to decline. He sought treatment at leading hospitals in London and Istanbul, but the answer was always the same: emphysema damage is irreversible. Standard medications could only manage symptoms – nothing could reverse the course.
Challenge
Mustafa’s condition steadily worsened. He was confined to a wheelchair; walking even twenty meters left him gasping for air. “For a while, we almost accepted reality,” his family later recalled. “But he was not willing to accept the status quo.”
The turning point came through his assistant Elena, who had been quietly searching scientific literature for any glimmer of hope. Ten days after arriving, Mustafa and his family left Lecheng – not just with medical records and test results, but with a clear direction for the next phase of their health journey.
When asked if he would recommend Lecheng to others, Mustafa answered without hesitation: “I would recommend Lecheng to everyone.”
